The right caregiver needs to be a fit for you. The antiquated five-star rating system might apply when choosing which electrician to use from Yelp, but how do you really determine if a doctor or caregiver is a fit for YOU? Parallel helps answer that question with the invention of the Parallel Score - a method of determining how you align with different preferences related to your next choice in doctor.

Outcome:

We quickly jumped into naming, logo and brand work, along with basic prototypes for investors. We built multiple prototypes for a user-centric, simple search app that allows users to set what their preferences are with a physician, and then search physicians in their area. We built the brand and landing page, then began our research process, ultimately culminating with a meeting with a large healthcare provider on the west coast.

As with many startups, the deeper we dove into our market the more clearly our pain points and potential issues in finding revenue began to emerge. After multiple meetings and user testing, it became clear that users potentially would find value in the service but physicians ultimately did not - valuing patient money over potentially losing patients because of a misfit. After 6 months of development and testing, we decided to pause our efforts.
